From Construction To Solar
Lee entered solar in 2010 after a long run in construction, joining a small Denver startup, SolarCity. The early hands-on years shaped a practical approach, design for scale, remove friction, and make the homeowner journey smooth from sale to PTO.

GOODPWR began as a consultancy serving EPCs, finance companies, and manufacturers. A finance friend pushed Lee to turn the playbook into a full EPC. The timing matched market needs for something both disciplined and new, so the pivot stuck.

How did you get into the solar business?
I’ve been in the construction industry for over twenty years and in 2010 made the move into solar for a small startup called Solar City in Denver, CO.
Origin Story - How did GoodPWR become a company?
GOODPWR started as a consultation company for EPCs, Finance Companies and Manufacturers until a friend at a Finance Company convinced me to turn it into an EPC. Originally I had always said I would never start my own EPC but I felt like the industry was in the right place and the right time for something new and different.
What has contributed to the rise of GoodPWR as a national company?
The easy answer to that is, I hold 90% of the licenses so we can open markets for free and faster than anyone else. Our operations procedures and product offerings are strictly standardized, which allows us to scale quickly and efficiently. We also have an extremely large and talented national network of experienced solar professionals.
The main catalyst for our positive traction is because of our team. The team that runs GOODPWR is made up of the most experienced and knowledgeable practitioners in the solar industry. Internally we have over 100 years of combined solar experience. Culture here is real and alive, not just a poster on an office wall. At GOODPWR we work with someone not for someone.
